Victor Massiah appointed as Chairman
Victor Massiah has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Fondazione Accademia Teatro alla Scala, at the head of a renewed Board of Directors. Giuseppe Vita, Chairman in office until last December, has been appointed Honorary Chairman.
The Foundation's board, whose Vice-Presidency remains with Diana Bracco, will include representatives from the world of business, education and Italian culture: in addition to the Superintendent of La Scala, Dominique Meyer, Marina Caprotti, Giuseppe Faina, Pietro Fioruzzi, Andrea Marchiori, Roberta Marracino, Paola Musso, Bruno Pavesi, Fabio Terragni and Alberto Veronesi.
Victor Massiah worked for many years in the banking world and was CEO of UBI Banca until 2020.
He has been a Business Angel and Entrepreneur since 2020. An adjunct professor at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan for the Master's Degree Course in Banking Management, between 2020 and 2023 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala.
Giuseppe Vita, born in Favara, a doctor and long-time manager, Cavaliere del Lavoro since 1990, boasts a prestigious career first in medical research and then in the German pharmaceutical group Schering AG, where he was Chairman of the Executive Committee from 1989 to 2001 and Chairman of the Supervisory Board from 2001 to 2006. He joined the Supervisory Board of Axel Springer in 2001, became its Chairman the following year and, since 2019, has been its Honorary Chairman.
