Workshop in tutu-making techniques

Overview

The workshop aims to provide specific preparation for the creation of a garment for dance, a classical tutu, developing in a short time all the skills to master the techniques of making a tutulette and a bodice.

Through a practical and interactive teaching methodology, the intensive program, after a brief excursus on the evolution of the costume for ballet, will allow participants to carry out creative work, starting from the paper pattern and following the different stages of making. Elements of processing techniques for creating a sartorial decoration will also be introduced.

The workshop is aimed at those who wish to consolidate skills in making a classical ballet tutu. It is also aimed at those who, already possessing knowledge with regard to tailoring and dressmaking techniques, would like to learn more about costuming for ballet.

The workshop is aimed at a maximum of 12 participants, selected on the basis of the evaluation of the following entry requirements, identified through cv:
- prior knowledge related to dressmaking techniques;
- knowledge of and interest in ballet and/or dance.
