Placeholder content for this accordion, which is intended to demonstrate the .accordion-flush class. This is the third item's accordion body. Nothing more exciting happening here in terms of content, but just filling up the space to make it look, at least at first glance, a bit more representative of how this would look in a real-world application.

General inquires

The Academy is headquartered in Milan and has no branch offices - due to the inescapable link with the Teatro alla Scala. The classrooms are located between the building in via Santa Marta 18, where the Music, Management and Stage Departments are located as well as some theoretical dance classes, and the Ballet School located in via Campo Lodigiano, seat of the Dance Department.

In general, propaedeutic and advanced courses last two years, professional training courses one year, and first-level AFAM courses three years. This is a general rule that has many exceptions, however, because all Academy courses are different: we advise you to check the details of the course you are interested in.

Also with regard to costs, the situation varies from course to course. On the page of each course, workshop and internship there is a ‘Download brochure’ button through which you can download a pdf containing all the specific details. Please note that the brochures are updated approximately at the beginning of November, earlier you might find the details of the previous year. You will also find inside all the costs with the division into instalments and the payment terms.

Every year, we organise open days during which you can visit our premises at Via Santa Marta 18. The Dance School, however, cannot normally be visited. When the opportunity arises, however, we always announce it in the Open Day section of this site.

Enrolment is open to young people attending, at the time of enrolment, a class from the fifth primary to fifth high school in the Italian school system and who have not yet turned 18.The cases in which an 18-year-old may be admitted are described in detail in the course brochure, which can be obtained from infocorsi@accademialascala.it.

The course for which to apply is IMPRESSIVELY linked to the class of Elementary, Middle or High School attended and NOT to the number of years of study at the school of origin.
On the professional dancer course page, you will find tables comparing the main international school systems with the Italian one, in order to identify the class attended and, therefore, the dance course to apply for.

It's not possible to apply for the 8th course.

Application must only be carried out online via the portal https://iscrizioni.accademialascala.it. Registration on the portal for access credentials must be made exclusively by the parents/legal guardian of the minor candidate.

It is important to read the course brochure carefully and in its entirety before proceeding, as it contains all the regulations. In order to complete the application - as candidates are minors who are also subject to a medical examination - they will be asked to enclose a document with the handwritten signatures of both parents or the legal guardian.

Candidates for the 1st course (=children attending a class corresponding to the 5th grade of the Italian system at the time of enrolment) are not required to have any preparation. The study of classical-academic dance here at the Academy requires that candidates admitted to the 1st course start with the technical fundamentals.

For courses 2 to 7: the physical-technical-aptitude examination consists of a classical-academic dance lesson on the programme from the year preceding the course for which you are applying for admission. No variation of the classical or contemporary repertoire is required.

For the first trhee courses a video is required, which must be based on a demo provided by the Academy. The selection for courses four to seven does not include video.

1st course: for females we suggest wearing a leotard (or, if not, a one-piece swimming costume); for males a short-sleeved T-shirt and a pair of tight-fitting shorts. A pair of short socks is required for both.

2nd to 7th course: we suggest that the clothing used at the home dance school be worn (leotards should not have skirts). Girls must have both half shoes and pointe shoes with them.

Yes, each student must purchase the uniform of his/her course at the Academy shop, located at 18 Via Santa Marta, approximately 14 minutes' walk from the Ballet School.

No, you can choose any school for regular training, but the choice must fall on one with evening attendance for the high school, because of the daily commitment in the Ballet School.
