    Ballet beginners

    Overview

    The beginning ballet courses are part of a broader curriculum offered by the La Scala Academy Dance Department.

    The objective is to acquaint children with the world of dance and music through lessons designed to develop their sense of rhythm and motor skills under the technical and artistic guidance of Eliane Arditi.

    Children who will attend a primary school class in the 2024-25 school year can enroll in preparatory courses.

    The 2024-25 school year will begin on October 7, 2024 and end by June 6, 2025

    Attendance modeMandatory in-person attendance

    For children in the 1st and 2nd classes of primary school, attendance is one day a week.

    For children in the 3rd and 4th grade it is two days a week.

    For children in the 5th grade, it is three days a week.

    Application fee€ 50

    The first tranche is €100.

    The second tranche varies depending on the primary class:

    • 1st and 2nd grade (one-week course): €840.00
    • 3rd and 4th grade (biweekly course): €1,018
    • 5a grade (three-week course): €1,210
    Students who successfully complete the course with attendance of at least 75% will receive a Certificate of attendance issued by the Academy

    The program includes gymnastic movements, musical rhythms, movements in space, coordination exercises and first notions of classical dance on the barre and center.

    To access the course it is necessary to pass a selection process which consists of:

    • a physical-aptitude exam, on 7 September 2024.
    • a medical examination, between 9 and 14 September 2014, reserved for candidates who pass the physical-aptitude exam

    The selections will be held at the headquarters of the Ballet School of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, in Via Campo Lodigiano 2 in Milan.

    Your email and the password you choose will become your login credentials [username and password] that can be used again for subsequent visits. You will also be asked to read the privacy notice.

    APPLICATION:

    After registering, enter the information requested for the specific applicant following the step-by-step. You will asked to download, sign, and attach the Terms & Conditions “Condizioni di contratto per la partecipazione". This step is necessary to proceed with the application process.

    ATTACHEMENTS:

    • 1 passport-sized photo.

    The Academy has agreements with accommodation, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and other shops, from which students can benefit - by presenting their ID card - or even candidates for selection, by presenting their full registration.
