    Masterclass in baroque singing

    Overview

    The masterclass, led by Sonia Prina, is aimed at young opera singers and offers the opportunity to delve into the main aspects of performance practice and baroque vocal technique, with particular reference to the works of Georg Friedrich Handel.

    The first 10 registered candidates who meet the following requirements will be admitted to the masterclass:

    - Age between 18 and 30 years old on the start date of the masterclass

    - Ist level Academic Diploma of the opera singing course obtained at a Conservatory of Music or a recognized Musical Institute (or equivalent qualification issued by foreign Conservatories or musical institutes).

    At the end of the workshop, upon reaching 75% of the hours of attendance, the student will receive a certificate of attendance issued by the Academy.

    The lessons include:

    • in-depth study of arias and ensemble pieces taken from Handel's works
    • performance practice and baroque interpretative vocal technique.

    The masterclass will be accompanied by Master Accompagnist of the Teatro alla Scala and the Teatro alla Scala Academy.

    To apply for the selections, you need to register or log in to the Academy's enrollment platform (https://iscrizioni.accademialascala.it).

    Your email and the password you choose will become your login credentials [username and password] that can be used again for subsequent visits. You will also be asked to read the privacy notice.

    Application

    After registering, enter the information requested for the specific applicant following the step-by-step. You will asked to download, sign, and attach the Terms & Conditions "Condizioni di contratto per la partecipazione". This step is necessary to proceed with the application process.

    • 1 passport-sized photo;
    • your full CV.

     

    The Academy has agreements with accommodation, restaurants, theatres, cinemas and other shops, from which students can benefit - by presenting their ID card - or even candidates for selection, by presenting their full registration.
